Mosaic the Fiance Company is the worse!
Mosaic the fiance company used by Solar City sucks! There customer services employees are rude, inconsiderate and non professional to say the least!
Preferred solution: Get a call from a Director or Manager of the Fiance Department
Worst Customer Service
- - A Solar City rep said panels were faulty and must be replaced.
- - I still receive monthly bills but have no solar.
- - Solar City should be accountable.
4 months ago a representative from Solar City came to my house and said that my system was faulty. The service person went up on the roof and determined that my solar panels were not functioning properly and that they would have to be replaced.
Again that was four months ago. I still get my monthly bill from now which is Tesela demanding their monthly payment, but I don't have any Solar Power? I have tried to reach them by their phone number and get put on hold by a recording for hours and never an answer. I have also tried by Email and the only reply I get is that my system is faulty check my monotor system.
Still no answer as to when I will get my system back up and running. With out solar I now have two pay the high price of electricity from southern California Edison. I am on Social Security and I can not pay Solar City and Edison both.
Solar City needs to be accountable for their actions! Harold Waltz, Rancho ?mirage, California

Not Happy Customer
- - Early issues fixed in 90 days but still not zeroing my bill.
- - End-year True-Up about $1800 plus PG&E; total over $2400; 20-year lease no easy exit.
Solar City sales person came out, went over details, all sounded good so we signed, system installed, had issues with system which were repaired with in first 90 days. System has since not produced enough to zero out my power bill.
At the end of first year I was sent a True-Up bill for about $1800.00 plus what had to be paid to PG&E which came out to over $2400.00, my PG&E bill before I signed up was less than $1800.00 for the whole year. My initial conversation with sales person was that I did not want a True-UP at end of year, I wanted a system That would zero it self out.
After numerous calls and run around from system is in the shade to I am just a unhappy sour grape customer I finally gave up. Now I am finding that there is no out from 20 year lease and any buyers do not want to assume the lease, can any body make a suggestion on how to get out of lease Thanks

Horrible customer service
- - No liability offered for work after panel installation.
- - Sprinkler installer and roofing contractor confirmed the leak was caused by solar panels.
Beware of solar city, especially if you are buying panels. Horrible support doesn't take any liability for their work if you buy panels.
They installed my system in December 2017 and I started seeing a leak in October 2018, they blamed everything else other than their work, first they blamed sprinklers and later blamed roof. I had a sprinkler installer and roofing contractor both confirmed that its caused by solar panels.
Its almost three month I am still fighting. Horrible company to deal with, stay away.
2.5+ hours on hold
- - Billing shows $50 due, but the site lists $90.
- - No missed payments.
- - The contact link shows an account blocked message.
- - I have been on hold for hours.
My actual bill (pdf) says I owe $50 however the billing summary page on the website says that I need to pay $ 90. I have no missed payments and there is no explanation for the $40 discrepancy.
They have a link to contact customer service on their website and when I selected that I received a message informing me that my "account has been blocked, please contact customer service".
I have been on hold for over 2 and a half hours now and I am starting to doubt that anyone even mans the phones.
I can get through to the IRS faster than Solar City: correction TESLA. When it was solar city I had no issues with customer service.
I like having solar panels and my service seems to be working correctly ( I have had no issues, ever.) But I hope for your sake that you NEVER have to contact them for anything.
Preferred solution: accurate bills and a staffed CS department.
Horrible customer support when needed the most
- - Three days waiting on hold for over an hour with no responses.
- - Promised escalation by sales, but no contact and no local support.
Horrible customer support when needed the most. I need my roof repaired in the solar city is nearly impossible to get a hold of.
Three days waiting on hold for over an hour, no responses. Today is calling the sales department talk to somebody within five minutes and promises of escalating my issues to a manager to contact me. No responses. I need my roof repaired in the solar city is nearly impossible to get a hold of.
Three days waiting on hold for over an hour, no responses. Today is calling the sales department talk to somebody within five minutes and promises of escalating my issues to a manager to contact me. No responses. I'm about to cut the wires myself and throw the system into the street.
There's nobody regionally or locally that I can contact.
Customer support is only global. So if they have an emergency somewhere in the world, everyone else is SOL.
Can't reach a live person at SolarCity
- - Hail damage to my roof; I need roof replacement and SolarCity to schedule panel removal.
- - Calls and emails go unanswered, and on-hold times are long.
I had hail damage to my roof and I'm trying to schedule the roof replacement and I need solar city to schedule a time to schedule a time to remove the solar panels. After calling many times and being on hold no living person has picked up the phone when I'm on permahold.
In fairness I've never waited on the phone longer than fortyfive minutes but I think that's long enough. I've also e mailed- no response, and left a voice mail. no response.
I've been using the 888-765-**** number, I'm starting to think that its a dummy number that no one ever pays attention to. I'm starting to think that the cash crunch at Tesla is starting to impact service at solar city, I do hope they prove me wrong.

Salacity cost me my home
- - Energy is lower than promised, but savings are about $1,200/yr.
- - Lease blocks selling; four offers lost and a $60k price drop.
I have had Solr City for about 3 years now and the system has not produced as much energy as they led us to believe, but we did save about $1200/yr. Now that I have move out of state and trying to sell my home I am not able to due to the fact no one wants to assume the Solar City lease.
w have lost 4 sales in the past month alone and have reduced the asking price of our home by $60,000 but the lease continues to be a sticking point. Solar City does not even attempt to point out and discuss the cost savings or benefits of the solar lease with potential buyers when they speak to them. It is turning into a nightmare and we will probably loose our home to foreclosure due to the Solar lease. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH SOLAR CITY!!!!
IT IS NOT WORTH LOOSING YOU HOUSE OVER THE MEAGER SAVINGS!!! STAY AWAY FROM SOLAR CITY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Lack of satisfactory resolution
- Lost several sales of my home due to their lease contract
- Resolution
Preferred solution: payment for the lost sales of my home.
Solor city is a ripp off
Lies lies and more lies
Terrible customer support
- - Communication module failed 5 times in 4 months, causing data loss.
- - Service calls are delayed or refused, with no direct corporate numbers.
Have solar city's solar system and in the last 4 months the communication module has failed to communicate 5 time causing data loss. Have requested a service call and all I get is a song and a dance and refuse to come out to service the system.
They always have an excuse and refuse to give you numbers to their corporate offices. This last time I had to wait 4 days to get their latest song and dance as why there is nothing wrong.
You would figure that a company that sells these products would like to have satisfied customers but they seem not to care. If you want solar there are other companies out their that probably have better support.
Preferred solution: Send a tech and replace module
I've been swindled
- - The proposal would cover electric heat for home and garage.
- - Bills would never exceed $116, and there were real estate tax implications and hidden fees.
I have been swindled. Good old fashion swindling.
I saw a Solar City booth in Nashua on the weekends. I became interested in putting solar panels on my home to help the environment and save money. I met with the Solar City representative (Damon Sakowich) twice and built up trust and rapport with him as an expert, representing Solar City. I expressed to him my criteria for moving forward – being able to heat my home and my garage addition with solar electricity.
He put together a solar propoals for me that he emphatically stated would meet those requirements. He lied to me on several points in order to get me to sign up with Solar City. If I knew any of these statements were lies, I would not have moved forward with the project. List of misrepresentations from the Solar City trusted advisor: 1.) Damon told me the proposal he sent me WOULD cover electric heat requirements for both my home and the a garage addition.
(I had a second meeting with him to confirm this fact.) 2.) He told me my monthly bill would NEVER go over $116 (I had a second meeting with him to confirm this fact.) and 3. There we NO residential real estate tax implications and NO other hidden fees that would impact me whatsoever. (I had a second meeting with him to confirm this fact.). These were all false statements made to get me to move forward with a 20 year solar lease.
I believed Damon because he was the expert (and I was not) and I trusted him. Once I signed the lease contract I removed all gas heat from my home and converted my home to electric heat (baseboards and thermostats). One by one I uncovered all of the Solar City misrepresentations. All of this is detailed with dates in the timeline attached.
1.) The solar panels did not and could not cover electric heat in my home and garage addition as stated by Solar City that it would. I had enormous electric bills and had to convert my home heat back to gas. With significant expense and damage to my home. Much of which I have not had the funding to repair yet.
I called Damon and he said he was incorrect and that solar could never cover home electric heat or garage electricity and heat. 2.) My solar bills were well over the $116 monthly fee – upwards of $150/month. I called Solar City and they said too bad. 3.) Damon told me that there would not be real estate town tax implications, and there were.
The town of Merrimack increased my home value by $40,000 for the solar panels that are leased. So I’m not paying thousands of dollars (about $20,000 - $30,000) over the life of the lease in taxes for just the panels. So, that’s lie #3.
All together, I’ve been swindled. I would never have signed the contract with Solar City if even one of those items were told to me accurately.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Solar city false claims
- - SolarCity promised lower bills.
- - After 4 years I paid more than install; a tech found 50% and an energy expert was sent to resolve the dispute.
I had solar city install panals on my house with the promise of lower bills. After 4 years I tallied the numbers and discovered I was paying more than installation.
I contacted the company and finally they sent a technician to check my unit. The tech discovered that I was only running at 50% When I contacted the company they said his discovery was not right. Next they sent an energy expert to check my house.
I am still get the run around about my energy bill. I hope this gets taken soon as it seems that they have totally dropped the ball and want me to be responsible for their mistakes.

SolarCity - Review in Utility category
- - Sales girl asked about solar and I said yes.
- - First bill arrived after 3 months; I couldn't afford it.
- - Don't sign SolarCity contracts.
Sales girl asked if i was interested in solar power. I said yes but my elect monthly is 35 to 75 a month.
She said with gov program i could save more. Long story short after it was installed took 3 months to get first bill it was over 100 monthly. So, i called them right away told them to take them down i couldnt afford a payment that high. I was told that i was stuck with it.
Im barely able to pay the 100 a month so its not enough. I owe more than its worth now.
Please do not sign a contract with solar city its like signing a contract with the devil himself. Can anyone help?
